Central Florida Jaguars Team History
The first chapter in the history of the Central Florida Jaguars began over 20 years ago. In 1994 Bob Howe and Neva Green led a group of dedicated volunteers to establish the Polk City Football League. This undertaking was to ensure youth football and cheerleading remained a viable option in the Polk City area when others had been unable to do so. PCFL is still going strong today.
The second chapter was the establishment of the Polk County Youth Football Conference. This conference would be open to smaller leagues focused on community more than competition. PCYFC was founded on the principals that the community could and would sustain a conference where leagues played locally, focused on fair play, needed less overhead and all teams could remain competitive. PCYFC is still going strong today.
The third chapter is far more recent, with the creation of what is now known as the Junior Jaguars. Utilizing teams from PCYFC, local youth were given an opportunity to experience indoor football and the skill development and excitement it brings. By providing the youth program the chance to partner with the local professional team only added to the benefits. The Junior Jaguars are still going strong today.
The current chapter brings us to the creation of the Central Florida Jaguars. Your Jags are built on a history of commitment to sustainable success, community focus and new opportunities. The Jags staff has a variety of backgrounds both on and off the field that bring business, sports and community success to the team. The Central Florida Jaguars are building a strong team today.
The next chapter looks bright and we want you to be a part of it. See local players earn their chance to play at the highest levels of professional football. Walk on the field and meet the players that are giving back to our communities. Watch youth and adult players you know chase their dreams. Come be a part of this story.
Come be a Jaguar!
